Comments: I recently read this book to my almost 3 year old son and he’s asked for it about 4 nights in the past week. It seems a little wordy for someone so young, but he seems to really like it. I think it’s because the plot is superficially very simple, though he totally doesn’t get the element of deception. When I tried to explain the concept of “tricking someone” to him, he didn’t see any difference from everyday pretending. I think that means this book will have lasting power and still be interesting to him in a year or two.
