Thanks for letting me know! I updated the link to something I am fairly confident will work, since the exact motors I used are no longer available.

I’m not really sure. It seems like it should work to me, but I’m not really an expert. I didn’t have that problem with the motor and battery that I used. One thing I’d recommend is determining whether it’s the motor or the battery that stopped working. You can check that by trying a different battery. If the same thing happens, then somehow the motor is killing the battery. That seems unlikely. If it just doesn’t work at all with a different battery, then the motor must be broken. Maybe the battery supplied too much current to the motor and fried it? You could probably stop that from happening by adding a resistor small resistor to your circuit. I’m totally just speculating. I’m sorry!

Hi Christina, since the wires are just connected with tape, you will have to un-tape one of the two leads to turn it off. However, it should be pretty easy to re-attach it when you want it to run again. Good luck!
