I have not tried Duolingo, but thanks for bringing it back to my attention! I've been meaning to give it a shot, but completely forgot about it. We are still doing Middlebury Interactive. We did Spanish, Chinese, and French, in the K through 2 level (one per year) and are now doing Spanish in the 3-5 grade level. We still love it. After I try out Duolingo, I will try to remember to come back and comment to let you know what we thought!

Thank you SO much for this review. Have your kids ever tried Duolingo? I am trying to decide between Middlebury Interactive and Duolingo for my 3 and 6 year-olds, however I can't find any comparisons of the two online. This review is super helpful, though.

I hope she likes it! Be sure to check your public library. Our library was able to let us check out all the Spanish dvds by borrowing them from other libraries in our area. Also, I'm not sure if they're still there, but I know a couple years ago some languages of Little Pim were available to watch for free with Amazon Prime. (Which I guess isn't free unless you have Amazon Prime.) Good luck!

Thank you for the comparisons. I am currently looking for a Chinese program for my 1.5 year old daughter. Little Pim seems like the program I will go for.

I wish I'd retained what I learned in high school. I didn't appreciate the opportunity when I had it!
