In reply to Stef.

I actually read and reviewed Raising Your Spirited Child a couple years ago, but I didn't like it as much as Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids. I honestly don't even remember reading it, but based on what I wrote at the time, it sounds like I agreed with the author and thought she had good advice, I just found it was a bit boring. To be fair, I think my kids are now a little more "spirited" than they were a couple years ago, particularly my 1 year old who wasn't even born when I read Raising You Spirited Child, so it might be more useful to me now. Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids is great though, because I really like her writing style in addition to her message.

Remaining calm is indeed the key. "Raising Your Spirited Child" is the book that I go back to whenever I feel overwhelmed by my kids' meltdowns. I didn't read The Peaceful Parent but have heard good things about it before. I should check it out.
