It is so exciting when a child starts blending together sounds to actually read simple words. There is such a wide range of ages at which this can happen and personally, I think that it’s not really a problem if a child reads later rather than sooner.
What matters most is that the child enjoys the process of reading and does not become discouraged. Books and stories are so inherently enjoyable that a child unpressured will naturally want to learn this skill. It is my hope these resources and activities below will encourage children’s budding reading abilities in a fun, enjoyable way.
