I can’t believe I have a first-grader. How did that happen? One minute he was asking to be picked up saying “Mama, hold you,” with his arms held high and the next he’s barely waving good-bye as he goes off to play basketball with his friends. Honestly, my son doesn’t need me to create entertaining activities for him any more. He’s better at entertaining himself and his younger siblings than I’ll ever be. However, he does still enjoy a lot of what we do together. Here are some ideas for providing homemade fun for elementary aged kids.
