My 3 kids (who are still pretty young) all LOVE animals. Long before they could say “Mama”, they could sign dog and monkey. My 14 month old’s favorite activities include looking at animals, touching animals, making animal noises, reading books about animals… I think it makes sense to harness this love of animals to get kids learning new information and thinking about categories even at a young age. Even a toddler can start to learn the difference between a reptile and a mammal, an animals that flies vs. an animal that swims. Being able to organize information is such a useful life skill. Zoology is the perfect way to start kids off on the path to categorizing and making sense of the world.
