Best Gifts for 9 Year Olds

Nine year olds are a lot of fun. They have the hand eye coordination for more complicated sports and art projects. They have the developing intellect that allows them read more complex books and play more complicated games. At this age, I still try to avoid electronics when possible. I know my 9 year old would LOVE a video game, and I do give in from time to time. However, as much as possible, I like to give gifts that encourage active play and creativity. Here are some of the best gifts for 9 year olds based on what my own children have enjoyed.

Since as of this writing, the only 9 years I have been around are boys, I have to say my favorite gift is a laser tag set. Even though the neighborhood kids have completely different sets of guns, they all seem to work together at least to the point that they all have fun. Honestly, I have no idea how they keep score or anything. All I know is that these guns seems to produce a fantastic time for this age set.
