Comments: I was surprised by how much my 5 year old enjoys this book. The first time we read this story about a little girl who learns to walk on tight ropes from a legendary tight rope walker, my son seemed mildly interested, but not overly enthralled with this book. I figured it was something we would enjoy once and then he’d forget about it. However, it’s now been one of his favorites for at least 3 months and we continue to read it a couple times a week. Maybe it’s the fact that it’s about a kid doing something dangerous. I like that it teaches him about perseverance and how we should keep trying if something is hard. If we ever go to a circus, this would be an appropriate book to read beforehand.
