Prehistory Activities for Kids

Dinosaurs. Cavemen. Fossils. Archaeologists. Prehistory is a really fun period to explore with kids. Since this age of history came before the invention of writing, discovering exactly what took place during this time can be a challenge.

However, if you want to get your kids excited about history, prehistory activities are a great place to start. If you can, visit a natural history museum and try to see some dinosaur bones up close. Watch movies like The Land Before Time and the Croods to give kids some basic familiarity with this time period. Read books like Aliki’s Fossils Tell of Long Ago.
