Who would have thought that one of my kindergartener’s favorite “picture books” would not have a single picture or illustration? This book is comedy at it’s finest for 5 year olds.

Comments: The concept behind this book (written by one of the stars of the U.S. version of the television show, The Office) is very clever. Rather than having any pictures, this book focuses on the idea that whoever is reading the book has to read all the words that the book says, even if that person doesn’t want to say those words out loud. Don’t worry. There’s not really any potty language. Mostly it just focuses on silly sounds and nonsensical things. The only “questionable” language that some parents might have a problem with would be the line that says, “My only friend in the whole wide world is a hippo named Boo Boo Butt.” (That’s also my son’s favorite page.) Needless to say, my 5 year old thought this book was hysterical. My 3 year old laughed too, but I think it was mostly because her big brother was laughing. We checked this book out from the library and probably read it 10 times in the first 3 or 4 days.

This sounds so funny! I’m checking our library’s site right now to see if they have it. My boys are a little over 4, so they may or may not get the humor but I’m sure (I hope) I’ll get it. :-)

I hope you’re able to find it! I don’t think I’d recommend buying it. My son really likes it, but I think I would get tired of it pretty fast if we owned it!
